create a folder

I have a new computer with windows vista. I need to create a folder in the c
drive but cannot find the c drive and do not know how to create a folder

In the Start Menu, open up Computer and double-click on the C:\ drive.
Right-click somewhere in a white area where the listed folders and files
are, and select Create > New folder from the menu. Name your folder.

You need administrator privileges in order to create folders and files in
the C:\ root, consider placing your folder elsewhere.

Click Start....Computer....Double click C Drive...Right Click anywher
in window, New..Folder Name it what you want

Hi,
Thanks for your help. I need to create it in the root. What does that
actually mean??
It is a website that I just bought. I am battling and trying to make money
so this one looked good but they want more money if they have to do it for me.
It is my computer so surely I should be the administrator. Please reply to

Simply put, the root folder is a top folder in which all subfolders and
their subfolders are stored.

I am not quite following you here. Are you trying to create a folder on a
remote web server? In that case, the root web page folder "public_html" is
usually accessed with a file transfer tool.

If you are trying to create a folder on a local machine's system volume (ie.
where Windows is installed), you should be able to see C:\ in Windows
Explorer.

Click on the Start menu, choose Computer from the right pane and take a look
at "Hard drives". The system volume can have a different letter than C
assigned to it, but that is not very common.

In order to make changes to vital parts of the operative system, Vista
requires administrator confirmation on certain actions, such as changing the
contents of the root folder. It simply means you are prompted to OK the
creation of the new folder, and you must enter your admin password if you
have set one.

You need to be administrator (i guess you are). If you have C:/ driv
shortcut on desktop, make a folder on desktop and drop it on th
shortcut
And any screenshot would be helpfull you know. for example yo
computer
