Creating and Deleting File Types - Changing Icons

Hi,

With Windows XP File Type Manager you could delete File Types, create new
file types, Set Strings, and change Icons. I found the "Default Programs" in
Control Panel in Vista but it doesn't let you do any of those things.

I could start hacking the registry but I am pretty annoyed that Microsoft
Dumbed Down Windows. For those of us who know what they are doing it is
pretty annoying that they made Windows "More MacIntosh". It was the one
thing I hated about Mac's and why I stopped being a Mac Tech.

I want different Icons for my Programs (no shortcuts) depending on the type.
Eg. JPG shows a little jpg on the icon and GIF shows gif.

I want to be able to create my own file types for programs not installed
locally but on the server.

Please don't make me have to revert back to "DOS" and use the ftype and the
assoc command. I can but that is soooo backwards =).

Cheers,
Lara
