I'm fairly new to this but I have been loading music from my CD collection
and now I want to start on my old school album collection. I have been
sucessful in recording the music on to the computor, and playing it in the
Window Media Player 11. My quesiton is now I want to organize it into albums
(like the CD's do). How to I open or start a blank album? I figured out how
to add a photo for artwork but can't seen to get a blank or new album started.

Thanks...

Hi. This is simple enough. At least this is the way I do it without any hassle.

In Windows Media Player, click on "Library" on the header line, then click on
"Songs" on the left of the screen. This will list the music in your file
alphabetically
by the artist's first name. Scrolling down the list, drag each particular
song to
"Untitled Playlist" on the right of the screen. If you've clicked "Burn" in
the header
line and have a blank cd in the burner, each time you drag a song over, the
amount of time left on the cd will register. When you have you dragged the
songs
over that you want to burn, click on "Untitled Playlist" and you will get
the option of renaming your cd. In the same option list you'll see "Save
Playlist", click on that. One thing you must remember. A blank cd has just
over 79 minutes of open
time on it. The time register I mentioned shows the actual music time.
There is
a two second blank space between each song that has to be taken into account.
So if you burn 20 songs you'll be eating up an additional 40 seconds of open
space. So don't try to max the cd out. When you've got all that done, click
on "burn"
at the bottom of your burn list, sit back and wait for things to finish up.
It's
not difficult or daunting.

Mitch, Thanks for the quick reply but I guess I wasn't clear in my question.
I know how to burn a CD. What I'm trying to do is add custom "albums" to the
library. Like when you rip music from a CD you get the albun artwork, song
list, artist ect and it's grouped under the album name.

What I'm doing is taking my album collection (33 1/3 vinyl records),
recording them onto the computer and would like to be able to organize them
by Album, like the CD do. I need to find a way to add a custom album then add
the songs to that custom album.

Not sure this is possible or not, seems that it should be.

When the recorded songs are added to the library, you can simply set any
value you want for Album. In Details view, right-click the Album field
of the song and select Edit. You can also set an album with the Advanced
Tag Editor, in the same right-click menu.

Regards
