There is probably a simple solution to this but I cannot for the life of me
figure it out. Is this possible and how?

Thanks

Right-click and hold the mouse button while hovering over the "Downloads"
folder and then drag/drop it onto the desktop someplace and "Create
Shortcuts Here"?

Thanks Shenan, this however just duplicated my Downloads folder on the
Desktop taking up more space. What I need is a shortcut pointing to my
Downloads Folder on the Desktop.
