I can only offer a suggestion. 1.) remove your wife's user account. 2.) do a
system restore going back to the date ( if you can ) Before downloading
updates. After step 1 & 2, run your computer and see if it's back to normal.
If yes, then set up a user account for your wife. Let's forget about the
icon for now, just have the account opened and run it.If nothing goes awry,
add whatever you want, but one at a time. Run it, if ok, add the next item.
That way you'll know which item you shouldn't have added. By the way, make
sure you have the User Account Control (UAC) turned on. Good luck.
