I have Vista installed on my computer but, I want to update my bios for my
motherboard and would like a create a bootable USB drive to do this instead
of using a floppy drive. Does anyone know if this would work and if so how
would I create the startup drive?

I have used method 2 in this article, but your BIOS must allow you to boot to
a USB device.

Why do you think you need to upgrade your BIOS?

Certainly don't do it just because it's X years old and there are
upgrades available. Although a BIOS upgrade normally goes well, it is
not without danger. If something goes wrong while the upgrade is an
progress (for example, a lapse in power) you can be left with no BIOS
at all, and an unbootable computer.

Do a BIOS upgrade if you need to--because you are having a problem
that the new version is known to fix--not just because one is
available.

I have a AMD 9600 quad core cpu and my MB Bios is 1.1, on MSI's website it
states that verison 1.4 added support for this cpu. Right now my computer
crashes from time to time

OK, then it certainly sounds like you need the upgrade. Ignore what I
said below.
