Critical Update Installation Failure: 0x80244016

My automatic updates are failing and when i check their status I get a note
that says:
Installation Failure
Error Code: 0x80244016
How can I fix this/get around it

0x80244016 - SUS_E_PT_HTTP_STATUS_BAD_REQUEST
Http status 400 - invalid syntax

Suggestion 1. Delete temporary internet files and enable scripting of
activex control files and then test. See this link for activex control:

Suggestion 2. Download BITS package and install it.

Suggestion 3. If you don't have a proxy, you will need status Direct access
(no proxy server).

1. Click on Start/Run
2. Type: cmd
OK
3. Type: proxycfg -d
<Enter>

Try Widows Update again
To get more help on proxycfg if you need to configure it to use a proxy
server or Internet Explorer's settings: proxycfg -?
