Critical update KB960714 error 0x80070057 on Vista Ultimate x64

Hello,

the installation of the critical update KB960714 fails with error
0x80070057. All Updates are installed except the mentioned.
I already renamed the "SoftwareDistribution" folder. Successless.

Any other hint?

0x80070057 - INVALID PARAMETER or ARGUMENT

Are you running Vista or Vista SP1? If the latter, did you install SP1
manually or via Windows Update? [One assumes you're NOT running Vista SP2
Beta.]
