Hi

Download and install this one manually (a newer update that also
includes KB837009) and see if it helps:

Hi

Ok, try this (be sure to reboot if offered):

Uninstall 823353 (from the add remove program list)

Then download and install 837009 manually:

Hi

No, 837009 is for Win98 SE as well (as long as you have IE6 SP1
installed).

From the download link for the Outlook Express 6 Service Pack 1
version of 837009:

<quote>
This update applies to Outlook Express 6 Service Pack 1 (SP1)
with the following operating systems:

* Windows XP SP1
* Windows XP
* Windows Millennium Edition (Windows Me)
* Windows 2000 SP2
* Windows 2000 SP3
* Windows 2000 SP4
* Windows 98 SE
* Windows 98
* Windows NT® 4.0 SP6A

Hi, I am having the same exact problem. I began to install this Cumulative
Security Update for Outlook Express 6 Service Pack 1 (KB837009) back around
Sept. and I have installed it at least 10 times since then, because 'updates'
states that it needs to be downloaded.

For some reason, it is not recognizing that it is already installed. Once,
I installed it three times in one day. Once, also I installed it manually
and the other times it came up on the 'critical updates' automatically. Any
help with this problem will be greatly appreciated. Just to add on other
thing, I had about that same time frame that this problem began, I had
uninstalled Norton Anti-virus and installed Staples Internet Security Defense
(a firewall). Again, any help is greatly appreciated.

so far your fix seems to have worked. I haven't gotten the warning box.
didn't go to windows update yet, so I don't know if it will say I still need
to download 837009. Thank you very much for your interest and your patience.
