Critical Updates and Activation error

This doesn't seem to appear to be a new problem but is new to me. I just
installed XP Pro. I really goofed. The battery is low on the desktop, so at
times I'm required to put in date and time at boot up. Well, I inadvertantly
put in 2007. Everything went well until I got to the activation process.
That went well, but immeadiatly after it accepted everything, I get this
notice that I have software that doesn't pass the test and also to check the
date. That's when I reallized what I had done. I can't change it by
re-activating. Also, I'm not sure this is tied into the problem but I keep
getting a bunch of updates to do but when I try to install them it comes back
and say's they didn't install without any message. Where do I start on this
one. Thanks a ton

A clean installation of XP Pro or a Repair Installation, Chet ?

You can correct the time issue by double clicking on the time showing in
the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
Now click the 'Internet Time' tab.
Put a check mark in the box next to ' Automatically synchronize with an
Internet time server '
In the Server box, set it to the server of your choice and then click
the 'Update Now' button.
If the Apply button, bottom right is available, click that then click
OK. That should synch the system to the correct time.

I got it and thank you. Do you think that; that would have anything to do do
with not being able to install any critical updates. When I look at them,
they are 0 bytes, I have not figured out how to see if they are already
there. I just comes back and says they did not up date. When I run Belarc
Advisor, it tells me I need 78 more updates. Thanks again.

I'm sorry I didn't answer your question: It was an upgrade from "Home"
