I'd love to be able to use windows updates. But after reloading it several
times now i have to call them to re activate windows. I was going to
experement with my spare drive to find out what Critical update is causing it.
I want to beable to pick the updates one at a time to figure out which one
is causing my issue. Only then will i beable to figure out if i have a
hardware issue or not. However that being said. I did not have a problem
running all of the
critical updates until i puchased a new copy of windows xp with service pack
2 embedded. I was able to run all critical updates without a problem before
this so i beleive the problem is with in the embedded version service pack 2
on my windows xp cd not my pc.

My only option is to reload it on another hard drive call Microsoft to
Activate it and then do each download one at a time to figure out which one
it is. This can be very time consuming and a very big pain in the butt. But
if my memory serves me right you need to activate windows to use windows
update web site.

When it fails the only option i have is to reload windows xp it will not
enter windows even in safe mode or last known good configuration.

All of my Hardware Drivers are up to date and I did not have any problems
before reinstalling windows xp.

Any Help would be great.
