Critical Updates Installation Failed

I am using Windows 2000 and I have been installing security patches from
windowsupdate from time to time. In the last three occassions in the past
three weeks, I keep on failing in installing the following patches, may I ask
if you know the reasons?

Security Update for Windows 2000 (KB841356)

Security Update for Windows 2000 (KB841872)
Security Update for Windows 2000 (KB841533)
Security Update for DirectX 7.0 (KB839643)
Security Update for Windows 2000 (KB839645)

It is from my experience that downloading and installing too many updates at
one time will cause several to not install properly. Try doing them 1 or 2
at a time. You might also want to use the Windows Catalog, rather then the
Update site. With Windows Catalog, you can download your updates to a
folder of your choice and install them at a later date, and it seems to be a
more reliable install.
