I have tried all the fixes I can find for this problem.
when I go to my services menu there is no "Crytpographic Services" choice
for selection.
I found another site that gave a suggestion to make sure the RPC is running
- and we have done this....
I have no idea how to make sure my Cryptographic Service is running - any
help would be so appreciated!

THanks for the link - but this is exactly the one I used to 'find' and fix
the problem - but it does not help me - As I recall this fix is specifically
for or calls out at least - Windows XP - we are on Windows 2000 - and I
assume this may have something to do with why we are not getting the problem
fixed ~
As I said, the information at this link asks that you go to the Services
menu and select "cryptographic services" - we don't even have that option on
our menu - so I have no idea how to fix something I can't find :O)

thanks anyway ~ I appreciate the effort!

yes, this probably would have done the trick...
unfortunately - I decided to update the pc w/service pack 4 first - because
this had not been done previously - and now things are REALLY boogered up!
we cannot make any internet connection and now receive error messages that
it cannot locate svc.host.exe................
and so the search continues!
thanks again for the help - wish I'd checked back here sooner!
