yes, this probably would have done the trick...
unfortunately - I decided to update the pc w/service pack 4 first - because
this had not been done previously - and now things are REALLY boogered up!
we cannot make any internet connection and now receive error messages that
it cannot locate svc.host.exe................
and so the search continues!
thanks again for the help - wish I'd checked back here sooner!
