cumulative security update fails

I am using Windows XP Professional 2002, SP2 and Internet Explorer 6. As of
Feb. 19 my system doesn't install cumulative security update kb867282 and a
fatal execution error Ox7927eO3e window pops up. Update kb867282 shows up as
installed in add/remove programs but it is obviously not working. Also
haven't been able to download security update for microsoft.net framework
ver. 1.1 SP1 kb886903. Have disabled firewall, pop up blockers,and Norton.
went to windows update site and tried to download updates but same error
messages again. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks
