Hello,

We upgraded from IE6 to IE7 half a year ago. After that, all Cumulative
Security Updates for IE7 for XP just failed, but other patches worked fine.
Below are some errors from KB972260-IE7.log (Actually, these errors appeared
on all previous Cumulative Security Updates for IE7)

Any help would be really appreciated!

Thanks,
Kevin

[crosspost to IE General]

Please state your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3) when posting to
this newsgroup.

Which means your WinXP computer's not been fully-patched for at least 6
months.

What anti-virus application or security suite is installed and is your
subscription current? What anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)?
What third-party firewall (if any)? Were any of these applications running
in the background when you installed IE7? How about when you installed
KB972260 and the earlier IE7 updates that failed to install?

Has a(another) Norton or McAfee application ever been installed on this
machine (e.g., a free-trial version that came preinstalled when you bought
it)?
