Cumulative Security Update (KB896688) and others

I tried to download the latest and greatest - 8 updates total. Everytime I
do, it kills my Norton Anit-Virus Email scanning, disables my Windows
Firewall Options giving it an unknown error when I click on it, and doesn't
allow my IE to connect at all to the internet.

Is anyone else seeing these type of issues or is there something I need to
correct as I download these updates?

you shouldnt be running any of those things when downloading and installing
updates. disable everything including anti-virus, firewalls, ad-aware and
other background programs.

How did you identify 896688 as the culprit, Melody, or did you? Does
uninstalling 896688 resolve the problem?

I didn't exactly pinpoint 896688. There was a total of 8 updates that I had
to delete but the problem didn't occur until 896688 was applied.

All updates where
896424
891917
902400
896688
905414
900725
905749

I haven't reinstalled any of these back to my computer.

It didn't matter if I had them running or not. I tried it both ways and it
still killed my email scanning and my internet connection.

Reinstall all of them with *no* AV scanner running in the background,
patch by patch and reboot every time.
