I have windows Vista Home Premium. Everytime It tries to update for this and
it says that it is updated and to restart. After restart it still shows that
I need to update. I do it again, and same thing happens all over. For some
reason it will not update this. Is there anything I can do? Thanks.

I have similar problem with Vista Home Premium and I'm trying to install this
update for already a month. Do you see "Stage 1 out of 3", "Stage 3 out of 3"
messaged during restart shutdown and startup? Do you see the message "Updates
were not configured correctly. Reverting changes" before the normal login
screen at startup?

I tried to contact Microsoft about that. Update people told me that it's not
an update issue, it's a system issue. System people tried manual install
after clean startup (which did not help) and then said that the Update is
probably not compatible with my hardware which is strange - Vista is
compatible and IE is compatible but this Update is not? They also suggested
to "Repair" Vista using boot DVD but it means few days of work to re-install
back all the software I have with no guarantee of a positive results.

So what I did I switched to FireFox 3 until they fix this issue or release
IE8.

People with XP report the same problem and sometimes they can fix it but I
have not seen any message about fixing Vista. Let us know if you can fix your
problem. Meanwhile you can just "Hide" this update in the updates list so you
don't see this annoying messages "New updates available" again.

This is the exact problem I am having. I will just hide it for now. Thanks

Please begin a new thread about /your/ problems or, if you've already done
so, stick to your own thread. Thanks.

That is NOT a wise idea. Without KB950759 installed, IE remains vulnerable
to all sorts of BadGuys!

I’m sorry, aren’t we regular users supposed to reply each other and help each
other here? I looked carefully through the Help page and specifically through
the Rules of Conduct and did not find anything that would warrant that.
According to the Help page:

“Microsoft created Microsoft public discussions covering many Microsoft
products, technologies, and topics because of the value of finding out what
your peers think and getting information from people who use the same
products and technologies you use. The Microsoft public discussions have been
available to anyone on Usenet for a number of years. Thousands of Microsoft
customers at all levels of expertise post in these groups today, creating the
content, sharing information and contributing ideas.“

Please clarify. Thanks.

Hiding the Update is the official recommendation from Microsoft’s system
support staff I received few days ago:
-----------------------------------------------
Based on the current situation, we have two options now.
Option 1: We can hide this update KB950759 and install a new security update
for Internet Explorer next month.

Hide the update
1. Click on the Start Button, type "Windows Update" (without quotation
marks) in the Start Search box and press Enter.
2. On the left pane, click the "Check for updates" button.
3. If any optional updates have been found, it will be listed. In that case,
please click the "View available updates" option.
4. Right click on the optional update you would like to hide and click "Hide
update".

Then the update will be hidden and it should not be offered again.
-----------------------------------------------
Using IE until without the Update is risky indeed, this is why I recommended
stopping using it and switching to another browser until the problem is fixed.

And if the next IE update also does not install?
