My cursor used to have an hour-glass next to it. Now it's changed to a
circle. How did that happen? Has it got to do with one of those updates
downloaded in the past ? I'm curious to know. Thank you.

The spinning circle is Vista's default 'busy' cursor. You can change the
setup in Control Panel > Appearance and Personalisation > Personalisation >
Cursors (or right-click the desktop > Personalise).

Thank you. Charlie42. But that does not tell me why no more hour-glass.
I mean I don't see the hour-glass anymore.

Perhaps the SP1 update reset the cursors to default. It is not a problem, if
you prefer the classic Windows cursor styles (with the hour glasses), you
can still find them in the Personalisation options.

Have you followed Charlie42's instructions, davidjchuang?

If you still cant see the hourglass, try changing desktop color depth
from 16 to 32 bit or if it is already at 32, slide it to 16 bit; then
see whether u have hourglass n if u have then go back to 32 bit. Here's
where to change color depth: Desktop right click > Personalize > Display
Settings > Colors drop down list.

Hope this helps!

Thank you all. I was just cutious, I know no harm done. PS. Carlie42, I
didn't download the SP1. So, mystery remains unsolved : " why changed to
circle "
