Could the cursor move off and come back at opposit side. Whould be easy as an
option. Specially for touchpath use to reach to scrollbars.

From what I've noticed Vista appears to have trouble remaining current on the
same window, ie. the cursor jumps to a position from another window without
actually switching windows. I find by having only one window active at a time
it reduces the jumping issue. Hopefully, the issue will be addressed soon as
it kills productivity on all applications!!!

Are you using a laptop?
I've not noticed that with Vista on my desktop.

There seems to be a problem with touchpads being too sensitive.
I've seen many posts regarding the cursor jumping as the user types.
I have not seen this behavior on my wife's Gateway laptop, running Vista
Home Premium.

If you have the Synaptic driver loaded, try to see if there are settings
that you can adjust.

From another post...
"Having the same problem as you (with microsoft ps/2 driver) I installed
v.10 synaptic touchpad driver for vista x64. Had terrible undesired
erratic movements/clicking.
You can adjust this in the setting-
Palm check and touch sensitivity.

Yeah..., but how do you rate my suggestion? Maybe there are other, also
better ways for tp-scrolling. Its boring the way it is now. I now about new
better tp-features, my tp is just a tp, no track options etc.

And btw there is also a setting that involves with cursurjumping, I tackeled
that one, it had to do with auto focusing on the window by mouseover without
clicking and the actual window laying over others or the sidebar, so a rather
unusual situation. I never use the autofocus again.

Live gets better all the time!

This is definitely not a mouse issue. I have a cordless mouse and never use
the touchpad. This is a Vista issue with windows control. It gets lost
between open windows.

In doing some Googling, I found some complaints such as yours, many with XP.
Some recommendations are:
1. try a different mouse
2. Some background program is stealing the focus
3. and this...
http://the-cream.blogspot.com/2007/0...ses-focus.html
since TweakUI is not yet available for Vista, you might try the registry
setting.
