Custom emoticons from contact partially hidden before next message

Whenever I receive a custom emoticon from a contact, only the lower part can
be seen. The full emoticon is only shown when I send a message or receive a
message from my contact.

It seems to only happen sometimes. Can anyone reproduce it?

If you're on the private technical beta there is http://connect.microsoft.com and the private
newsgroup, but everyone else, nope.
