Was the system prompted to reinstall the software controls for Windows
Update when it first accessed it ? If yes and the controls installed
successfully, then some 'thing' is blocking the controls from
functioning properly.
Is BitComet installed ? ( If yes, then click Tools, Manage Add-ons.
Set the 'Show: ' drop down window to " Add-ons that have been used by
Internet Explorer ". Locate the BitComet add-on, click on it to
highlight it, then put a mark next to the the Disable option)
IF BitComet is not installed, which antivirus/security suite is installed ?
Which firewall is being used ?
