When ever I send a custom smiley, the other person can see it in their chat
window but i cant see it i mine. This is making conversations VERY confusing
and I am going too have to erase them because I cant see the same they see.
Is there a setting that needs to be changed or is it a gitch? I need to fix
this really bad... thanks for the help.

Experiencing the same problem as well.

I even tried editing the smiley and saving it to see if it fixed it, but no
go.

I type, for example, the shortcut for a Dying with Laughter smiley ".dwl"
and it shows up like that in my chat window, but my contacts see's the smiley.

Looking forward to the next beta release.

I am seeing the exact same thing. Very annoying, to say the least.

I have noticed that I can "see" a custom smilie in the lower box if I select
it from the emoticons tab, but if I type in the exact keystroke that I
assigned to it, it does not even show in the lower box. Only the keystrokes
show in the conversation window.

I have the excact same problem.
If i type the smiley-string i see no smiley in the text field, nor in the
message history. If i select it from the smiley menu it shows up in the text
field but in the message history i only see the string.
How did this get through the alpha tests?

Im using Windows XP SP2

Hi there,

This is a known issue we're looking into at the moment.

Thanks for the feedback!

Are we likely to see a fix before the release of the final version of
WLM 9? Maybe another beta version?
