Hi,

One thing that didn't work in XP and doesn't work in Vista is
customising how notification icons should be handled in the sys-tray.
The problem isn't that it doesn't work initial+ly, it's just that after
a reboot or two most of the settings are "forgotten" and I have to set
it again in "Customise Notification Icons...".

I have noticed that the setting stick for some programs and not for
others whatever I do. I wonder if it could be because the program
alters it's sys-tray icons properties slightly every time it starts
making Windows not recognise it? One program that is impossible to set
is Avira Premium Security Suite. Regardless of how I set it it's
forgotten after next reboot or restart of the program.

Hi Ceed,

If you mean for tham to be hidden or to show in the notification area,
then you might also check in the program's settings for a option to
uncheck to turn off from showing in this area. When a program has this
option, it can sometimes override what you have selected in the
Notification Area settings.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
