Customizing Activesync Calendar settings

Hello:

I have customized the Calendar settings in Activesync on
my desktop to sync only appointments in the "last 1 week"
and "all future appointments". However, when I do a sync,
the calendar on my pocket pc shows all historical entries
that exist on my desktop calendar. I have tried deleting
and re-establishing the partnership between the pocket pc
and the desktop several times. What am I missing ?
Ideally, I would like old calendar entries to be purged
automatically to save storage space.

TIA for your assistance.

Hi,

The Calendar entires on your iPAQ should appear as per the settings chosen
in ActiveSync. If it is not displaying correctly, try performing a soft
reset and then synchronize. If your older appointments appear, goto
Tools -> Options in ActiveSync on the desktop and select Calendar and modify
the settings to synchronize all appointments and synchronize. Then restore
it back to the Calendar settings you desire and sync again. See if that
helps solve your problem.

Tried all that was suggested. Did not work. Is there a
way to clear out all the calendar entries after doing a
soft reset ?

Hello Maa Poo,

Have you considered resintalling ActiveSync ? I am not certain if this will
help but try running the scanpst.exe on the .pst file and then synchronize.

Search for scanpst.exe on your computer. Usually the location of the file
are as follows:

* Windows XP, NT and 2000:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Mapi\1033\NT\scanpst.exe

* Windows 95, 98, and Me:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Mapi\1033\95\scanpst.exe

Note: C: might need to be replaced with appropriate drive letter.

You will need to run it against the .pst file. Usually the name is
Outlook.pst.

To clear the entries of Calendar in your PPC you could do the following:

Open Outlook -> Goto Calendar -> Create a new Calendar folder - > Select the
default Calendar folder and press CTRL + A to select all your calendar
entries and move it to the new folder. Then sync the empty Calendar folder.
This will clear out the Calendar entries in your PPC. Now ensure the
Calendar settings in ActiveSync are correct and repeat the steps to move
them back to the default Calendar folder ...
