Customizing photo size in slideshow screen saver

Is there a way to customize the Vista slide show screen saver, to make it act
more like the old one in XP? Specifically, I would like the option to turn
off having them all at full-screen size, as many of them become quite blurry
when blown up so big. In XP, you had a choice, and I really liked it that
way. Any help will be much appreciated!

Hi,

No, that is not configurable.

I realize this is an old thread, but I found it during a search on thi
topic. If it is impossible to configure Vista to display slide sho
pictures at their original sizes that is a defect in the program. Fo
instance, pictures that are 700 x 500 look terrible on my 1600 x 120
screen, and basically renders that feature of Vista unusable. That i
not the case with the Preview feature, which displays pictures at thei
original resolution

Perhaps Microsoft ought to address this deficiency

I've been having the same problem. Is there really no way to display the
pictures in their original resolution? my slideshow looks awful.

Is there a way to alter the properties of the images themselves in order to
keep the computer from ever stretching them, whether on the background or in
a slideshow/screensaver?

at Microsoft were thinking when they designed it this way. Or was it an
oversight and they don't want to admit it?

The only way I know of to use that feature without severely impacting
the quality of your images is to resize them to your screen size if you
have the pixels available; i.e., resize a 2000 x 1500 to 1600 x 1200, or
whatever your screen size is. For smaller images like 700 x 500 the
other alternative is to use a program like Photoshop or Genuine Fractals
to upsample your images to your screen size. This kind of hassle
wouldn't be necessary if Microsoft had properly designed this feature.

It is unfortunate that Microsoft designed it so shoddily, and more
unfortunate that they haven't corrected it in one of those massive
updates they periodically issue.

Has anybody ever used Clone Remover as a 'duplicate file finder
(http://www.moleskinsoft.com/duplicate-file-finder-1)? I've heard it'
the best program in this area
