Cut & paste resolution

If I convert an autocad drawing to pdf and open it in adobe reader, it is
high resolution. If I cut and paste it from adobe reader into windows paint,
it becomes low resolution. Is this change of resolution built into Vista or
windows paint, or is there some way of adjusting it so that the drawing is
high resolution in windows paint?
