D:drive missing

hi my d:drive won't show on my computer. it's like it doesn't even exist. i
know it works. but it doen't show up on the device manager. so i uninstalled
any cd writing programs on my computer and used guided help like it told me
to do. it deleted the upper and lower registry files but it still doesn't
show up. could someone who knows the answer help? it is a LG CD-ROM CDR-8400b.

Does it show up in the BIOS?
