Data & File Transfer

My old computer's motherboard failed (running XP). New computer runs Vista
and I salvaged the old hard drive and plugged it into an external enclosure
(IDE to USB) as a slave drive. Vista can see the files and folders but I
can't transfer due to file ownership on the prior drive not recognizing the
new account as the admin. Can't use Easy Transfer since I can't log into the
prior computer. Any suggestions?

Switch it back to master and try again. I've never had any trouble doing
exactly what you are trying.
