I installed SP2 to my computer. Works fine.
I found out that when I open a Folder or some applications for example
1. My Picture
2. Control Panel
3. Recycle
Message pop up. Data execution Prevention (DEP). How can I disable this
pop up message? Is this really recommended to enable it.? It bothers me when
it pops up. Thank for your help in advance.

Gil,

Having DEP pop up when you attempt to run what you've stated is NOT
expected behavior. My Pictures and the Recycle Bin are not tied to
an executable and this is what DEP does ... prevents executables
from being run.
Best to check if SP2 has installed completely :

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888162

Look under the " More Information " heading :
Q1: I do not think my computer is in an "incomplete Windows XP SP2
state." How can I know for sure?

Hi! MowGreen,
I went to this website http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888162
and read it everything ok. And I tried also to this
Q1: I do not think my computer is in an "incomplete Windows XP SP2
> state." How can I know for sure?

1. Went to add or remove programs - Windows XP SP2 is listed.
2. Check Lsas.exe file version 5.1.2600.2180 ok.
3. Went to method 2 click run type winver - ok
4. version 5.1 ( Build 2600.xpsp_sp2_rtm. 040803-2158 - ok.

So the Windows XP SP2 upgrade installed it successfully in my computer.
What do I do next.? Thanks a lot for answering my first question. Hope you
can
also sent me idea about my second question.

Gil,

Good to see that SP2 is fully installed. As to why DEP is behaving
the way it is ... see the post by Torgeir Bakken for more info on
how to disable and configure DEP. Control Panel can be added to
exceptions for DEP, but I 'm not sure how one would add My Pictures
and the Recycle Bin.

Hi

It should not cause any problems disabling it, you only disable
an extra security feature.
