Hi.

"Datacenter licenses include unlimited virtualization rights, meaning
customers have the use rights to run an unlimited number of virtualized
instances of Windows Server."

...but what if we want to use a virtual XP machine or Win7 also. Do we need
some extra license?

Tomppa

Hello Tomppa,

Windows XP or Windows 7 require a license for each install, they are NOT
windows server.

Best regards

So, when XP/Win7 is not available as Microsoft Open license and I may not
use OEM license, then I have to buy a Retail Pack with Windows 7 Pro
Right?

Hello Tomppa,

I don't know if you can get it as OPen license. But if you don't use the
OEM you have to buy a full license. But why not using the OEM version before
spending additional money?

Best regards

the OEM licence is stuck with the orginal HP PC it came with. OEM licenses
are never moveable.
