Having used Microsoft update recently my CD rom is no longer working. I have
read some of the other threads and it appears that I may need to modify my
registry. Having found the appropriate key in the Registry I am confused as
to what are the Upper and Lower Filter values. When I expand the key I have
0000,0001 and properties. Where do I find the Upper & Lower Filter values
which I need to delete.

Thanks for your response.
I have already tried using the file that you suggest and my cd drive is
still not working.
I would appreciate any other suggestions you may have.
My CD drive was working perfectly well until I did the windows update. I did
however at the time have to put a patch on my Panda Antivirus to enable me to
carry out the update

Open your Device Manager and uninstall the CD drive,
then reboot and Windows should automatically reinstall it.
