Hi,
In trying to resolve my computer being so slow on startup I download and ran
"Process Explorer" and noticed that about 2 minutes after I start my computer
there is a process "SVCHOST" running that uses about 50% CPU. The services
under that process is "DcomLaunch" and "PlugPlay". What are these services
and why are they eating up so much CPU time?
Your help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Phil

Looks normal to me. PlugPlay has to do with pug and play and DCOM is the
Distributed Component Object Model. They need to find a lot of things to
get the OS going.

Svchost is a catchall that runs lots of programs. You can find a lot of
simultaneous instances of svchost running various modules.
