Sometimes, not every time, when I bring the computer out of Standby
(sleep), the mouse will not operate at all (mouse pointer will not move). I
can usually fix this by putting the computer back in Standby and bringing it
out of Standby again. I have a "Sleep" button on my keyboard so I don't
need the mouse to put the computer to sleep. Is there anything I can do to
fix this problem? Thanks for your time. Otto

Is it a cordless or wired mouse?

I would try down loading new drivers for the mouse. Look on the web
site of the mouse manufacturer.

Thanks for responding. It's a wired Microsoft mouse. I will try that.

Check with the computer manufacturer for any updates to the mouse or power
management drivers.

The computer is built by a local shop. I downloaded the latest 64 bit
mouse driver but that made no difference. The problem pops up infrequently
so I can live with it. Thanks though. Otto

Hi Otto
It's Anne - I have been trying to send emails to you but they keep
bouncing back - something to do with your firewall. I'm still receiving
emailsd from you ok, but can't send you anything. Hope you are both
well. Best wishes. Anne
