I'm running Media center edition 2005 update rollup 2 on windows XP. When I
try to use my cable tv (live tv), I get an error - "decoder error the video
decoder has either mailfunctioned or is not installed. pls restart media
center and/or/ the computer."

Does anyone have an idea what to do? How do I re-install media center?

Regards,
Doug Lorber

Doug,

First off, *** strongly suggest *** that you never post your email
address to a public newsgroup. The 'Bad Guyz' have ways of harvesting
posted email addressess. 'Munge' it something like this

or
dalorberATcomcastdotnet

Since this update deals with Windows Update issues, suggest you post
here for assistance :

Windows Media Center Edition - General

thanks for the advance. As you can tell I don't do newsgroup too often. I
will post my question at the location you identified.

Thanks,
DougL
