Please elaborate what exactly you mean by "size of a virtual disk".
Your question as it stands is ambiguous....

I have a virtual disk with Windows 2000, in Virtual PC 6.0.156.0. Its size
in the explorer of windows is 16GB. Can I reduce the size? The disk is
empty.

Hi Telerin,

I also had the same problem. I'm using both Virtual-Box and Virtual PC.

The problem with the dynamic VHD is it can expand automatically. But
cannot shrink automatically.

1 I'll just run an utility names "sdelete" which wil be available for
free download.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/s.../bb897443.aspx

Usage: sdelete -c

-c Zero free space (good for virtual disk optimization).

2 The is an option available in virtual PC

File -> VirtualDisk wizard ->Edit an Existing VHD.
Select the location of the VHD and Select Compact it.

I think this post will be useful for you.

Excuse my English.

Thanks.

My method:
- use Image for Windows (
http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/ima...windows-ss.htm )
- create backup of vhd
- restore backup
