Default Open and Edit?

In Windows XP, there was an advanced tab to change the programs to Open and
Edit a file, in this case for JPG files.

Although I have found how to change the program used to Open in "Set
Associations", I can't see how to change the Edit to launch PhotoShop.

I would put the command in
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\jpegfile\shell\edit\command
The syntax is probably something like ".../photoshop.exe %1"

Be sure to export the key before you try anything.

Thanks, that did work, but I also wanted to do this for other several file
types (jpeg was an example).

Surely there is a way without delving in the registry?

In my opinion, I am better at being careful to backup my system than any
'downloaded program' that can do it for me. YMMV. I suppose a good company
makes one, but those are probably more expensive than 20 minutes of my time
As far as I'm concerned, typing a command line is just as easy as
clicking my way thru somebody's idea of an 'easy to use' graphical user
interface.
