Definition Update for WindowsDefender-KB915597 (Definition 1.20.28

This update was installed automatically yesterday, and then today Windows XP
Home with SP2 would not boot (or too slow to boot). I recovered from the
restore point before the update was installed, and Windows booted up fine.
But, then Windows issued notifcation to install this update. Is there
anything wrong with this update?

No problems here with Definitions v1.20.2829.2 (06 Aug-07) or v1.20.2831.2
(07 Aug-07) installed.

You can manually update Defender via the link in the right-hand pane on this
page: http://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/

Microsoft has established separate newsgroups for Windows Defender support
and comments. This is not one of them.
