Leave the defrag alone, its doing just fine in Vista, it runs at all time in
the background as a low priority process keeping your Windows Vista system
in tip top shape. Its pretty cool stuff.

Try stop posting useless dribel that adds no value to this newsgroup. Go
outside and get some fresh air and do something more productive.

Hi Drakey,

You can use the free Auslogics Disk Defrag instead.

'Auslogics - Download Auslogics Disk Defrag'

Try explaining your problem in more detail if you expect anyone here to be
able to assist you. "Don't work" is not exactly an illuminating description
of the symptoms of your problem. My kitchen faucet leaks... can you diagnose
the problem, please?

Seconded. Great program...far better, faster and gives you more control
than Vista's internal defragger. The fact that it's also free is a great
bonus.

let me guess, if i may, i appologize if i have this wrong, but have you
gone and disabled any 'unnecessary services' recently, especially the
task sceduler.
task sceduler is required to run the defrag utility.
i only say this because, as you may have also guessed, i have been
there too.
i suggest that if one decides to tweak windows, that they dig deeper
than the promises of uber fast OS that some so called experts put up on
their sites , many of which can do more harm than good for one's
system.
In my experience, if someone starts out by saying things like, those
microsoft idiots have included a bunch of useless rubbish in vista,
then i generally move on. it seems to me that a lot of those ppl would
rather have an OS that they understood once, a long time ago, namely
3.1
