Hi,

I'm running Vista Ultimate 64 on a high spec dual core desktop machine.
Having decided it was time for a defrag.........it's now been running for
almost 24hrs! Given that there is no indication of progress, what the hell
is going on? I'm getting a little bored with waiting and not having any
idea what is going on so, can anyone recommend a defrag tool (preferably
free but not essential) that works well with Vista 64 bit?

Regards and thanks

AC

Hello,

there's Disk keeper (http://www.diskeeper.com/defrag.asp),
or O & O Defrag (http://www.oo-software.com/home/en/), which I used myself,
or the free Disk Defrag (http://www.auslogics.com/disk-defrag/index.php).

Greetings,
P. Di Stolfo

Now that was quick! Had a look a Auslogic and now running a defrag. It
seems to fulfill all requirements and is Vista 64 bit compatible.

Many thanks for the replies.

Also PerfectDisk, cheap but not free at www.raxco.com. Also
consolidates free space and is certified by MS for Vista.
