Deinstall Active Sync 4.5

Hallo!
ActiveSync 4.5 doesn't work on my computer and PDA. ActveSync 4.2 did. Is it
possible to deinstall version 4.5 on my computer as well on the PDA. On my
computer I know how to do it. But when I later install version 4.2 the PDA
expects version 4.5 and disallows to continue.
What can I do?
