"Delete and block" used by mistake, not able to un-do

- By mistake I clicked the "delete and block" button for a specific message.
- The sender then ended up in the "block-list".
- I removed the sender from the blocked list (and also added him to the
allowed-list)
- However, I still do not manage receive messages from the sender.
- it seems like the sender has been permanently blocked no matter what I do.

Any specific settings I am missing or misunderstanding?
Many tnx in advance for any help!
best regards

Is this with a Hotmail account?

Check via web mail for your Junk mail folder and filtering settings
How to set the Junk e-mail filtering level

Hi! Tnx for feedback!

No, it's not a Hotmail account. I am using POP3 for incoming / SMTP for
outgoing, e-mail account provided by my broadband supplier.

E-mail account configured through WLM's "tools, account...". Up until now no
problems whatsoever.

I am planning on re-installing WLM, but would like to avoid all the fuzz
with back-up/restore etc.

Hi, Micke.

The exact function of "Delete and Block" is not clear to me. My
understanding is that it not only adds the sender to the Blocked Senders
List, but also sends an "unsubscribe" message to the Sender. So you might
need to contact the Sender and ask to be re-instated to his (or its) mailing
list. Or just re-subscribe.

Have you contacted the Sender since the unintentional block?

Hi RC

Are you certain that selecting 'Delete and Block' in WLMail sends
an 'unsubscribe' message to the sender?

I hope it doesn't - because if WLMail really does respond in that
way, unsubscribe messages would provide confirmation to spammer
that the junk mail has reached a valid email address. That would
be just as bad as clicking on 'unsubscribe' links in junk mail.

Have you also checked the mail account via web mail? Check the spam
folder was well as any spam filtering settings there.

WLM wouldn't send any block information to your mail account on the
server for a POP3 account. But it may just be a coincidence that you
stopped getting mail from this person around the same time.
