How to delete Automatic Updates

Finally, my computer has finished downloading SP2, but I do not intend to
install it, so how do I fix it so that it is no longer offered? With the
previous version, you could choose which updates to install and the ones that
you didn't select were hidden away where you could retrieve it if you decided
you needed them, but it doesn't appear that is an option with this version.

Oh, and why does AU ask if you want an express install or a custom install
when it's already downloaded the updates? Seems pretty pointless to me.

Zoe,
You can still hide the update with the new version AU. Select custom
install, uncheck the update you want to hide, then click on "install"
or "close" button. Now you get a pop up dialog asking you whether you
want to really hide the update (wording is "Don't notify me about these
updates again"). If you check "Don't notify...", you will successfully
hide the update.
As to the question of custom vs express install, express install
provides you a one click operation if you don't care about selecting
what to be installed.

Thanks, it worked.

However, now, for some reason, when I go to the Windows Update website, it
isn't letting me see the other updates. It finds them, and on the side it
tells me I have 3 critical updates, 2 optional updates, and 1 hardware
update, but whenever I click on any of those, the only thing that comes up is
"Total updates selected:" and the link to install now. Did I hide the other
updates too when I hid SP2? (BTW, the critical updates were nothing terribly
important - the rest of SP1, an incompatibility warning about SP1, and the
GDI tool.)
