The solution to the problem was this:-
In manage add-ons there were still 9 norton named add-ons running(i got shot
of norton nis 2008 and put kaspersky on here) despite disabling them i still
had little problems with ie,like the blank box,so i took the plunge,to make
sure ALL norton was off my system for ever iv`e reinstalled vista.
No more problem.
