Is there a way to put a delete button on the taskbars? I hate having to pull
drop down menu every time I want to delete something. And I don't like using
the keyboard if I'm already using the mouse.
Thanks.

Kathy

There may be some utility out there that can do this, but I have not seen
one.

I normally just use the right click pop-up menu to delete things, if I don't
want to reach for the keyboard.

Hi, Kathy
If there were a delete button was on the taskbar, what would you want to be
deleted when you click it? How would the logic behind the button know what
you want to be deleted?

You all know what I mean - XP has the little red X on the taskbar. It's just
gone now in Vista. Why?

The 'close' button? Red X -upper right of title bar in most windows?
It is there on my Vista Home Premium.

The task bar is the long horizontal bar at the bottom of the screen, never
seen a red X in there XP or Vista.

The Red X is the universal close Button in all MS software. Normally top
left corner.

Why on earth would there be one in the Taskbar?

Can't anyone read what the question was? It wasn't about the red x in the upper right corner to close the window. In windows 2000 and windows xp, there was an x icon on the windows explorer tool bar. Using that, you could delete the currently selected file by simply clicking on the x. You didn't have to right click and all that crap. When are the idiots at M$ going to quit screwing things up and leave well enough alone.

As you can probably tell, not having the "delete" x available in vista kinda ticks me off also.
