How to delete a cluster?

Hi
I am trying to delete a test cluster which was configured in Windows 2003
incorrectly with one node. I could not connect to the cluster using Cluster
Administrator. How do I delete the cluster all together? I'd like to start
all over again?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

You can connect to the cluster with a dot, that is "cluadmin ."
And then you can evict the node.

If that doesnt work. Run the following from a commandline: "cluster
node /force"
This should cleanup any clustering on the node.

Good luck.

Thanks!
I did run a command "cluster node nodename /forcecleanup" and it did install
the cluster service on the node. But when I configure the cluster on the node
again, it still see the old cluster and it did not allow me to a cluster on
the node any more. Any idea?
Thanks for your help!

The cluster name could still be in DNS or WINS or on that machines cache.

"ipconfig /flushdns" to clear your DNS cache

"nbstat -R" to clear your NetBIOS cache.

Cheers,

Is it possible to repro the problem and send me -
The exact error message you get
and
clcfgsrv.log from the node you are creating the cluster with.

Note clcfgsrv.log is @ %windir%\system32\Logfiles\cluster folder

I'm guessing that you are referring to Cluster Administrator attempting to
start the cluster service on you old cluster name. This is because the
program caches the names of the servers it recently connected to. Once it
times out, you should be able to click the "Open" button to launch the "Open
Connection to Cluster" dialog box. Once this is displayed, you should have
to option to create a new cluster which will run you through the install
wizard again.

If you want to delete the cached info, you'll need to hack the registry and
delete the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Cluster
Administrator\Connections key and all the subfolders.

Regards,
John

Thanks everybody for helping me!!
I flushed the dns and NetBios and deleted the registry keys. It worked. Now
I can reconfigure the cluster on the same node again. You guys are the best!
Have a wonderful holiday season!!
