I noticed the box to delete files from computer when deleted from the
library was checked as if default. options/library

If this is so better uncheck it or you may lose music and not know it. I
cant recall if this was the same in 10

MICROSOFT
please return my per delete option of just removing from library or
deleteing from the computer, some times I want to do one and other times the
other not one or the other. Also where did the add folder, currently playing
item etc go, why can I only add from monitiored folders.
jeez I hope someone other than users read these things

I'm so glad someone else noticed this! My son deleted almost all our music
thinking he was just deleting from his library but now it has been completely
deleted from computer and can't seem to retrieve even after system restore!
Any suggestions on how to retrieve would be GREATLY appreciated since my
husband is a radio DJ and has been collecting this music to use in his radio
shows.

Restore does not undelete a file. It merely restores the registry. Restore
them from your backup.

Most people backup their data (makes copies for safe keeping of their
important data). You can restore the missing data from that backup if you
have it.

As far as I'm concerned the option 'to delete from library as well as from
computer' has mad some people really mad at MP, even enemies.

Best would be to add an option 'to always request confirmation'. Or make
this the default behaviour. Basically a must have since they are not delayed
in the recycle bin.

It causes me not to show my complete MP3 collection with MP. Just to afraid
that somebody clicks around and destroys it (120MB).

Anybody a hint how to protect your MP3 from deletion by changing the
ownership in Vista.
