I recently had to remove this update because it was causing internet
problems. However, after removing from add/remove and restarting, I receive a
notification that this update is downloaded and ready to be installed. My
notification for wiindows update is set to notify me only that an update is
ready to downloaded and installed. Is there any way I can completely delete
this download?

Thanks...

Use Custom scanning when you are in Windows update. Then uncheck (hide) the
update that you donot want Windows Update to notify you. You can enable the
update back by using Restor hidden update under "Options" in Windows Update
page.

Click on the shield icon to start the Install. Choose Custom Install.
Uncheck the box next to it. Click OK and then put a check in the box
next to " Do not show this update again ".
Did that hide it ?

Thanks for the helpful responses. I had already taken the suggested steps to
hide the install notification of this download. What I would like to do is to
completely remove this download from my laptop. Is this possible?

Once I had figured out what this was for, it is one of those that won't be
installed again.

I had to search the system to find all traces of it.
I re-named what I could, used "unlocker" to allow me to do so (seems Redmond
finds some of their stuff they don't want us getting into, hence the "access
denied").

I am about ready to kill off all vestiges of AEC, once I have absolutely
determined it is for audio communications over the internet.

Even though it went all over, and I did a System Restore, I still found
about a dozen entries for it.

One of these days we'll get the full story on this, but it was sure a sneaky
way to get you to load WGA.

Problem solved. Spoke with a Microsoft Update technician this morning. When
Microsoft Updates express or custom are selected, the updates are
"temporarily" downloaded and ready to be installed. So the update I listed at
the beginning of this thread is not really downloaded in my computer.
