hi ted, i think i understand a bit better now.In vista and i will use docs
folder as an example i would open docs and search from within that folder
this is supposed to one of the great innovations of vista and if i'm honest
as long as the indexing options are set ok then it works fine and is a lot
quicker than the search in xp once all files matching the search criteria are
found then just right click and do what you want with the folder eg move
,copy /paste ect
ps hears a link to add copy /move to folder to your right click options if
required
