Can securty update files example $NtUninstallKB887742$ be deleted from the
window directory.

Prabir,

If you need more HD space, yes. Ensure any update is not causing an
issue prior to removing the $NtUninstall folders.
Here's a clear explanation of which updates can be removed and how to
remove the concurrent entry in Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel:

I never thought they took much room, but a check just now shows
2.21 Gig of files in the uninstalls and their logs! That's an
eye opener, really.
