Start button > Control Panel > Programs and Features > scroll to find
Windows Live Essentials, right click on it > click Uninstall. The prompts
will lead you to a list of programs you can uninstall.

Hi,

Just to add you can always disable Messenger from starting automatically by opening up any
Messenger window, pressing the Alt key on the keyboard to bring up the menu bar, choosing
Tools, then Options, then the Sign In category, and uncheck the 'Automatically run Windows
Live Messenger when I log on to Windows' option.
